Anansi is a spiral, segmented shawl that would double beautifully as an heirloom baby blanket.

Description

This pattern uses Tunisian crochet techniques and was designed to be made with a regular, short crochet hook.

Yarn used in sample:
Briar Rose Fibres Stella Lace
80% Merino, 20% Silk
“Cranberry” – 1 skein (2000 m)

Wingspan: 170 cm / 67 inches
Hook: 5 mm (H Hook)

Construction:
Anansi is worked in segmented, triangular sections that are built one on top of the other. The curve of each segment is created using cleverly-placed increases and the eyelets are designed to align in concert with the curves.

Once all 11 segments are complete, the shawl is sewn up along it sone, remaining open seam.
