Gaoth Casta is a light and airy piece, and so it should be as its name means “Swirling Wind” in Irish!
With its clever sleeve construction and two yarn weights, it’s a unique and worthwhile piece.

This garment is sized to fit busts: 30″ / 34″ / 38″ / 42″ / 46″ / 50″

Description

This pattern uses Tunisian crochet techniques and was designed to be made with a regular, short crochet hook.

Yarn used in sample:
Fyberspates Scrumptious Lace
& Fyberspates Scrumptious 4-ply (14 wpi)
(Merino 55%, Silk 45%)
“Ecru”
Sizes (Bust inches): 30″ / 34” / 38″ / 42” / 46″ / 50

Yarn Requirements: (both weights are necessary for this pattern)
Lace: 750 m/ 800 m / 880 m / 970 m / 1030 m / 1100 m
4-ply: 500 m / 550 m / 600 m / 650 m / 700 m / 750 m

Hook: 5.5 mm (I Hook)

Construction:
Goath Casta is made in two sections. First, the Body is madein 4-ply using vertical rows until the fabric fits around the bust, waist and hips. Then it is seamed.
After that, the sleeves are worked separately in lace weight, then folded, seamed and attached to the body.
