Homeward Bound is a sampler shawl containing a wealth of lace and mesh textures. It’s designed to keep you occupied on a long journey, and then keep you warm on every trip you take thereafter.

The wingspan of this shawl is 260 cm / 102 inches

Description

This pattern uses Tunisian crochet techniques and was designed to be made with a regular, short crochet hook.
This is an advanced pattern. The pattern pdf is 28 pages long and contains a photo tutorial for the spiral section.

Yarn used in sample:
Townhouse Yarns Fade St. 4-ply
70% Merino, 30% Silk (14 wpi)
“Bonfire” – 1 skein (340 m)
“Ember” – 1 skein (280 m)

Wingspan: 260 cm / 102 inches
Hook: 5.5 mm (I Hook)

Construction:
Homeward Bounnd is worked sideways, with each lace panel built on top of the previous one.
Several eyelet and mesh fabrics are used to make this a perfect “sampler” shawl.
It can be done all in one colour with approx 650 m of yarn, as an alternative to the two-colour effect.
